The Collection: Directional Clarity
Design Concept:
The Vermillion Bird belongs to the southern direction and vermillion red color, and its attribute is fire. The Vermillion Bird is often considered to be identical with the fiery phoenix, which represents rebirth, hope, warmth, and light. Majestically soaring through the starry sky, the focal point of the Vermillion Bird is its flame-like crimson tail, lending this lifelike sculpture an air of mystery.
This piece belongs to a set of five mythical creatures, each mounted on a sphere representing the universe and the cycles of nature, and reminding us to live in harmony with the natural world. On each sphere in the set is a circular constellation chart, which has been used since ancient times as a guide to making good decisions, leading to happiness and success in all aspects of life.
Associated with the four quadrants of the vault of heaven are the Azure Dragon of the East, the Vermillion Bird of the South, the White Tiger of the West, and the Black Tortoise of the North; in the center is the Qilin (unicorn). Each region corresponds to one of the five elements: metal (west), wood (east), water (north), fire (south), and earth (center). Moving across the night sky, the stars connect all life to the five elements. When the universe and elements are aligned, harmony ensues.
朱雀出南方，南方的顏色為紅，屬性是火，朱雀即是鳳凰，自古以來有鳳凰重生的美麗傳說，如同火，代表希望、溫暖、光明，寓意處處是紅紅火火的錦繡新象。展翅翱翔星空，英姿舞動，南方朱雀的尾部是作品表達的重點，烈火般的塑形，加上特別的緋紅定色，將朱雀的神祕色彩具象化，其雕塑表現栩栩如生。
此系列作品，五靈獸均徜徉於一塑有星宿的球體上，球體，象徵天地宇宙，是生命、是希望， 提醒自我對宇宙自然的關照，明白四時有序、耕耘收藏，和諧共處的智慧。球體上塑有星宿，說明方位，指引方向，引領我們清楚，下一步，怎麼走，並因為知道了位置，步步是妙草吉花， 處處是好人間、好前程、好時勢、好風水、好力量。
五相，東青龍、西白虎、南朱雀、北玄武、中麒麟，安定人心，信心的鎮守與護佑。古老的東方智慧，指引人們前往美好和諧的未來。
